One recent evening, I was sitting in the grotto at the Lord’s Ranch. It was dusk, about 5:15 p.m., and the sun was about to go down. I sat and prayed a while, and then it began: a symphony of birds!!
Most of the birds were hiding in trees, although they would fly in and out of the trees at times.
All around me were all kinds of birds singing. They had different tones and sounds, and it was loud. I started to laugh with joy, and then I closed my eyes to take in the beautiful symphony God was giving me to enjoy at that time.
They sang and sang. I sat there for about 20 minutes as I enjoyed the personal symphony God had sent me through his feathered creatures.
I still smile when I think about it. I left the grotto so happy as I praised God for such a beautiful concert! I continued to praise God that evening.
The sweet song of the birds led me to praise our Creator, “Thank you, Lord, for that great gift you gave me. Help me praise you spontaneously throughout the day.”
Praise the Lord from the earth, you creatures that crawl and fly. Young men and women, let them all praise the Lord's name, for his name alone is exalted, majestic above earth and heaven. Psalm 148: 7a, 10b, 12-13
God bless you!
