The gospel was recently from the book of Mark. Jairus went to Jesus pleading with him to heal his daughter, who was at the point of death. On his way to see her, Jesus was in a large crowd and healed a woman with a hemorrhage. He stopped and talked with her a bit. Meanwhile, Jesus got word that Jairus’ daughter had died.
Jesus was interrupted. While Jesus was on his way to heal a girl who was at the point of death, he was surrounded by a crowd and was interrupted by a woman in need of healing. (As you know, Jesus continued on and brought Jairus’s daughter back to life.)
As you read the gospels, this really is a recurring theme. Jesus was resting, and children came to him. Jesus went across the lake to rest, but a crowd was waiting for him, and he ended up miraculously feeding thousands of them. Sick people were constantly coming to him asking to be healed. Pharisees made their appearances just to try to trip him up. He had to change plans since people messed up his original course.
Such was the life of Jesus, with nowhere to lay his head. I encourage you to read the gospels, noticing how often Jesus has to change his plans.
Often our days do not go as planned. A child gets sick, someone is knocking at the door, an elderly friend is lonely, someone is hungry, the car has a flat, my spouse is mad at me, the phone is ringing, and so on. AAHHH!
Of course, we cannot take care of every little thing thrown at us, but we must be alert to the day. Often, plans change, and in those moments, let’s try not to freak out. Life happens, and it happens quickly.
Stop, take a few deep breaths, and ask Jesus for help with what is before us. Ask for patience and peace, ask for strength and wisdom, and ask for the angels and saints to help you. Try to stay calm.
Remember, yes, we may get interrupted, but sometimes we are the interrupter, and someone helped us.
God bless you

Lovely reflection, so true, so many times I am the one interrupting. Blessings to you, family and all at Lord’s Ranch.
